Good evening citizens of Lanett,

I want to take a moment to update our community regarding the shooting death of Mr. Tommy Boyd. First, I want to again express my concerns for everyone affected by this unfortunate event and assure our citizens the safety of our community remains our top priority.

Our law enforcement officers and investigators continue to work diligently on this case; however, no arrests have been made. Because this remains an active investigation, there are certain details that cannot yet be released to the public.

I want the community to know that this matter is being taken very seriously, and we are hopeful that an arrest will be made soon. We ask for patience and cooperation as investigators continue gathering the information necessary to ensure that justice is served properly and thoroughly.

I also encourage anyone who may have information related to this incident to please contact the Lanett Police Department. Even the smallest detail could be important.

Let us continue to stand together as a community, support one another, and keep all those impacted in our thoughts and prayers.
