Food vendors will be here and the 5th grade students will be raising money for their upcoming 4H trip selling a special HES grandparent spirit button.

Every week our cafeteria staff chooses a class to receive the Silver Spoon. The Silver Spoon is given to a class that is polite and takes care of their lunch area by keeping it clean and picking up after themselves. Last week, Miss Otto's 3rd grade class was the winner and was able to eat lunch outside! Great job, Miss Otto's class!

What do Taylor Swift and famous poets have in common? They both know how to use words to express feelings, tell stories, and make us think! Our 5th grade students had a fun introduction to their poetry unit while deciding if it was a Taylor Swift lyric or if it was from a famous author/poet.

After their large group lesson, students got to choose which color they would like to make! Once dry, students turned their painting into a picture for their September journal!
