REMINDER: Southeastern Franklin County: KDOT EMERGENCY RELIEF PROJECT beginning August 23rd – Virginia Road just North of Lane, KS (between Douglas Rd & the Pottawatomie River Bridge).

For several years, this section of Virginia Road has experienced severe erosion due to repeated flooding in the area. KDOT will begin construction to alleviate the erosion issues and protect the road from damage during future flooding.

Beginning today, August 23rd, the northbound lane of Virginia Road will be closed. Traffic signals will be established to allow both north and south bound traffic to utilize the open south lane throughout the duration of the construction. The project is planned to be done by the end of September.

If you inadvertently picked a folding chair from the Lane Fair this weekend please return it to the fair barn as soon as possible, the cost for replacing these rental chairs is high and takes away funds designated for next year’s fair.
