Extreme heat is more than just uncomfortable, it can be dangerous. As summer temperatures climb, remember that the safest place to be is in an air-conditioned building. If your home doesn't have A/C, look for cool public spaces like libraries, shopping malls, or community cooling centers to beat the heat. Learn how to spot the signs of heat exhaustion and keep your family safe this summer - head to ready.gov or https://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/departments-offices/homeland-security/emergency-management/preparedness-resources/extreme-heat for full safety tips and resources.

WASHINGTON GAS RESTORATION UPDATE | Beltsville, MD

Washington Gas crews are hard at work restoring service to customers in Beltsville, Maryland. Their ongoing focus remains your safety and returning natural gas service to the community as quickly and safely as possible.

Today’s restoration work:
✅ Crews are working to restore service to the remaining ~50% of customer meters in the affected area.

What to expect during restoration:
To safely restore service, technicians must:
• Individually turn meters back on, and
• Relight appliances (furnaces, water heaters, stoves, etc.)

⚠️ Important: This process requires access inside your home, and an adult (18+ years old) must be present to complete the relighting and safety checks.

Missed visit notice:
If a technician attempted to check your residence but no one was home (or no adult 18+ was available), you may see a door tag left at your home with instructions.
