ANOTHER YEAR OF 100% VOLUNTEER SERVICE
On Sunday, the Department hosted our annual Memorial Day Barbecue, honoring service members who gave their lives for this great country, including our own Christopher Slutman. We were also honored to host the FDNY VFW Post 12033 who made the trip to Arlington National Cemetery to pay tribute to Chris and the 46 other members of their department who have been killed in action.

Memorial Day Weekend is also an important weekend in Kentland history, as it is the anniversary of us becoming 100% volunteer staffed, a status we have maintained without fail 24/7/365 for the last 31 years. Before the celebration Sunday night, the members spent the day doing multiple Engine, Truck, and Rescue Engine drills, all while maintaining three crews out of the Landover Road firehouse.
