When you see flashing lights and hear sirens, remember that every second matters. Whether it’s law enforcement, fire personnel, or EMS responding to an emergency, moving over safely and yielding the right of way helps them reach those in need faster.

Stay alert, stay focused, and do your part to keep our first responders—and everyone on the road—safe. 🚔🚑🚒

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

The Landis Police Department extends our deepest gratitude to all Gold Star families and to those who continue to carry the memory of our fallen heroes.

May we never forget their sacrifice.

It’s hot enough outside to fry an egg on the pavement… but that doesn’t mean you should drive like your tires are melting. 😅

Slow down, stay alert, use your turn signals, and follow all traffic laws. The heat is rough enough — let’s not make the roads any hotter than they already are. Stay safe out there! ☀️🚔

Behind every safe neighborhood, every answered call, and every moment of help during times of need, there are dedicated officers working tirelessly for our community. Today, we proudly recognize and thank the Landis Police Department for their continued service, commitment, and care for the citizens of Landis.

Your work goes far beyond law enforcement. You build relationships, support families, encourage our youth, assist during emergencies, and stand ready to serve our community at any hour of the day. The compassion, strength, and dedication you show each day help make Landis a better place for everyone.

Thank you for the sacrifices you make, for the professionalism you demonstrate, and for the countless ways you serve our town each and every day. We are grateful for all that you do for the Town of Landis and the people who call it home💙🚓

Move over. Slow down. Save a life.

Every traffic stop is dangerous for law enforcement officers standing just feet away from speeding vehicles. When you see emergency lights on the side of the road, move over if possible or slow down immediately. One second of attention and courtesy can make the difference between someone going home to their family or not.

North Carolina’s Move Over Law (G.S. 20-157) requires drivers to shift lanes or slow down when approaching stopped emergency, law enforcement, or service vehicles with flashing lights activated. It aims to protect roadside workers and first responders.
