Roxbury Fire Company 2 is proud to have taken home 1st Place for Best Appearing Mini Pumper with our 1995 International Mini Pumper!

This truck has quite a history within the Roxbury Fire Department. Originally belonging to Company 1, the truck was once painted yellow before eventually making its way to Company 2 and taking on the look it has today.

Now, more than 30 years later, this 1995 International is still an active piece of our fleet and continues to respond to calls and serve the residents of Roxbury Township. It’s a true testament to the generations of members who have maintained and cared for this truck over the years.

Not bad for a 31-year-old fire truck. Still answering calls and now bringing home first place.

A big thank you to the Boonton Fire Department for hosting and for a great day. We appreciate the hospitality and are proud to bring this one home to Company 2!

As residents of the Landing area may have seen today, the Roxbury Fire Department Company Two Annual Labor Day Road Drive is underway! Our members will be out until approximately 7:00 PM tonight collecting donations.

Your generous donations directly benefit the firefighters and EMTs of Roxbury Fire Department Company Two and help us continue serving and protecting our community. Recent purchases made possible through Road Drive donations include our new LED sign outside the firehouse, which allows us to share community alerts, emergency notifications, and other important information. Your donations have also helped fund our rescue boat, which has been active on Lake Hopatcong throughout the summer.

So far this year, the Roxbury Fire Department has answered 707 calls for service, including 353 EMS calls. Every one of those calls means our members are leaving their families, jobs, and daily lives behind to respond when our community needs them.

This past Tuesday, members of Roxbury Company 2 participated in an evening of hands-on training focused on two important topics.

The first portion of the training covered the traction splint, a device used to stabilize certain femur (thigh bone) fractures. A traction splint helps reduce pain, minimize muscle spasms, and limit further injury by applying gentle, controlled traction to help align the injured leg until the patient can receive definitive medical care.

Members also participated in an electric vehicle (EV) training drill focusing on the use of the Emergency Plug. The Emergency Plug is a tool designed to safely prevent an electric vehicle from restarting after it has been shut down. By plugging into the vehicle’s charging port, it simulates an active charging connection, helping to ensure the vehicle remains immobilized while first responders operate safely around it during an emergency incident.

Ongoing training like this helps ensure our members stay up to date with the latest equipment, techniques, and technologies so we can continue providing the highest level of service to our community.

Roxbury Company 2 recently took delivery of our new Holmatro extrication tools which will be replacing our older hydraulic extrication tools. Our previous tools served Roxbury for nearly 30 years and were used at countless motor vehicle accidents, rescues, and training drills throughout the township.

Our new Holmatro tools are fully battery operated, allowing crews to operate more efficiently without being limited by hydraulic hoses or power units. This gives us the ability to quickly move equipment wherever it is needed, especially in situations where victims may be down an embankment or away from the rescue truck.

We would like to thank Leandra Kane from ESI Equipment, Inc. for coming out to provide hands-on training and practical drills on the proper use, operation, and maintenance of this new equipment.

These tools are a major investment in the safety of both our firefighters and the community, and they will help us continue serving Roxbury residents for many years to come.

Today is Roxbury Company 2’s Annual Memorial Day Coin Toss.

Our volunteer firefighters and EMTs will be out until 7:00 PM collecting donations to help support equipment and training so we can continue proudly serving the Roxbury community.

Roxbury Engine Co. 2 has proudly served Morris County since 1929. As a 100% volunteer organization, every call we answer, training we complete, and piece of equipment we maintain is made possible through the support of our community.

Your donation helps us continue providing emergency response, fire prevention, rescue operations, and life safety services to the residents of Roxbury Township 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
