Have questions or concerns about the Village of Lancaster? Trustee O’Brien is your guy.

Village of Lancaster Trustee Gavin O’Brien is inviting residents to an informal “open office hours” session from 11 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 31, at Pallet Cafe, 155 Lake Ave.

The sessions are intended to give community members an easy, relaxed way to ask questions, share concerns and ideas, or simply introduce themselves.

O'Brien has announced plans to make these unofficial office hours a regular occurrence, providing residents more opportunities to connect with their local village board.

Read the full article about this event and others in this week's edition of the Lancaster-Depew Bee.

At last night’s meeting our committee unanimously voted to endorse Chairman Jeremy Zellner for reelection as the chair for the Erie County Democratic Committee.

Under Jeremy Zellner’s guidance, we have grown our own committee and brought hardworking candidates to the forefront of the last few years. The county democrats have been a united force to reckon with under Jeremy Zellner’s leadership and we know that legacy can carry on for years to come!

The Lancaster Republicans want you to come to their meeting to talk about how they are creating a third line for themselves on the ballot this November. They’re calling their made up party the Affordability Party.

Let’s make one thing clear: It is Republican policies and Republican lawmakers at every branch of the federal government that is making life unaffordable right now. The gas is at 4.59 a gallon. Why? Because the Republican President bombed Iran. The Republican President stated he doesn’t think about YOUR financial situation at all when he makes these decisions. Republicans unanimously supported the OBBA passage last year, which is now leaving our friends and family scrambling to find health insurance coverage effective July 1st. Healthcare premiums are skyrocketing for everyone as a result.

Are you now going to believe that our local Republicans are any different? Our county legislator wants to repeal the gas tax which will cost the town 108,000 dollars. That doesn’t sound affordable. Our state assemblyman doesn’t even have plans, he just complains about any Democrat who tries to pass legislation to help our district. That might have worked two years ago, but people see now that nothing has been accomplished for our district in the meantime.

Local Republicans can call themselves whatever they want, but it doesn’t mean they actually care about you, it just means they are trying to steal your vote because they think you’re too naive to understand what they’re doing.

We think the choice is clear. We are all fed up with fear mongering. Ryan Taughrin for NYS Assembly is the real deal and is here to make things better, not create more division.

05/11/2026

In the next few weeks you might have someone come to your door asking you to sign an independent party nominating petition. The Lancaster Republicans are so scared of our candidates this year they think having a THIRD line on the ballot this November will help.

Make no mistake about it, Ryan Taughrin and Sara Marmion are working right now for change, not some sneaky way to trick you into voting for them. It’s clear that the Republicans realize how toxic their policies have been nationwide and voters are ready for change. Creating a third line to confuse and trick the electorate isn’t exactly distancing yourselves the way you think it is.

If someone does come to the door asking for your signature, you should ask them what party their candidates are registered with and why they feel the need to create another line for themselves on the ballot.

Can’t exactly say we wish you all good luck, but it’s already proving to be an interesting year.
