🏡 Our department has been busy this year!

👷🏽‍♀️ Programs like our 2026 Homeowner Rehabilitation Program are only as successful as the dedicated contractors who do the work—and continue to bid on our projects.

A huge thank you to Savkon Construction, Spires Maintenance, Handyman in a Van, and Pipeworks LLC for helping make this year’s program a success! Your hard work is making a real difference for Lancaster homeowners and helping us preserve and improve our existing housing stock. 🏠❤️

We appreciate each of you and the work you do to Love Our Lancaster!

June is National Homeownership Month! 🏡

Safe, stable housing creates stronger families and healthier communities. At LASCO, we help eligible Ohioans navigate housing and foreclosure-related legal issues so they can protect the place they call home.

If you or someone you know needs legal help with housing matters, we’re here to help.

🫠 Busy week advocating for the 5th Ward

Aside from City Council Monday and our Special Council Meeting on Wednesday regarding Charter vs Statutory city forms of government, which both can be viewed on YouTube, I also made sure to attend:

🏡 Fairfield County Housing Coalition regarding ways two local property management owners have created their own success with helping low income or low credit clients find safe, comfortable housing options (so proud this is a 5th Ward property owner 💙)

📝Planning Commission’s Public Hearing regarding zoning within our Ward (shout out to the two 5th Ward residents asking great questions about how changing their neighborhood from residential-transitional to commercial-neighborhood could impact their quality of life)

💧The always informative Water/Water Pollution committee meeting (you have no idea how talented this team is until you hear what they are tackling to manage our city’s water, wastewater and stormwater) *All committee meetings are open to the public.*

…and this morning I am partnering with some familiar faces in our Southside neighborhood for a project that will be dropping soon. Stay Tuned.

If anyone has questions about the contents of any of those, please reach out!

🏡 What does “Fair Housing” mean?

Fair housing ensures that everyone has the right to rent or buy a home without facing discrimination. Thanks to the Fair Housing Act, landlords, lenders, and sellers must treat all applicants equally.

This includes:
✔ Equal access to housing
✔ Fair lending practices
✔ Freedom from harassment or bias

Let’s work together to keep Lancaster a welcoming place for all.

🏡Homeowner Rehabilitation Assistance Program Update

Thank you to everyone who showed interest in the City’s Homeowner Rehabilitation Assistance Program! Due to an overwhelming response from the community and more applications than available funding, we are no longer accepting new applications at this time.

We truly appreciate the strong interest in improving homes and neighborhoods in our community. Applications that have already been submitted will continue to be reviewed and processed in the order they were received.

If additional funding becomes available or the program reopens for applications, we will share updates here and on the City’s website.

Thank you for your continued support in making our community a safer and healthier place to live.
