Special thanks to city employees who came out and participated in the 9/11 Hill Climb at Rising Park. Together, they completed 41 minutes and 20 seconds of physical activity—each step taken as a tribute to the four hundred and twelve brave first responders who gave their lives on September 11th, 2001. Their courage, selflessness, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to others will never be forgotten.

🚨 Lancaster Mosquito Fogging Update 🚨

The City of Lancaster will begin its 2nd mosquito fogging of 2026 next week!

🗓️ When: Sunday night, Sept 13 – Thursday night, Sept 17 (Weather Permitting)
⏰ Time: Nightly from 9:00 PM – 4:00 AM
📍 Route: Starting West (Section 15) and moving East (Section 1). We aim to cover 4 sections per night.

⚠️ Safety Reminders: Stay indoors and keep pets inside with windows closed between 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM. Inclement weather or high winds will delay fogging to the following night.
🐝 Beehives, Pollinator Gardens & NO FOG List: Already on the "No Fog" list? You're still on it! No need to call again. Need to register? Call (740) 687-6668. Leave your Name, Address, Phone Number, and Reason (Pollinator/Medical).

The Lancaster Police Department is currently conducting police operations in the area of 216 Witte Street as part of the ongoing investigation. Members from the Lancaster Police Department Special Response Team (SRT) are responding to the scene.

The public is asked to avoid the area and not attempt to enter the affected area. There will be an increased police presence while officers continue to work.

Witte Street, Pine Street, and Center Street will be closed in the area. Officers will be present to assist with school pickup traffic. Additional information regarding school pickup procedures will be released by Lancaster City Schools.
