Our community showed up — cleaning buildings, helping local organizations, supporting pantries and shelters, and giving their time to make a difference.

To every volunteer who rolled up their sleeves and served — thank you. You are what makes this community so special.

🎉♠️ ALL IN FOR ALICE ♠️🎉

We’re launching a virtual Split‑the‑Pot fundraiser to support the ALICE families who make our community run — and we need YOUR help to make a difference.

ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed — our childcare workers, medical assistants, cashiers, home health aides, servers, and so many others who work hard every day but still struggle to afford basic essentials. They earn too much to qualify for assistance, but not enough to make ends meet.

💡 That’s 35% of Fairfield County.
These are our neighbors, coworkers, and friends — and together, we can show them they’re not alone.

That’s why we’re going All In for ALICE. Every ticket purchased helps support ALICE initiatives right here in Fairfield County. Half of the funds raised go directly to programs that support ALICE households, and one lucky winner takes home the other half!

Nearly 300 volunteers. One day. Countless acts of service.

Today, our community showed up — and showed what it means to care. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves, cleaned out buildings, helped agencies prepare for moves and festivals, and supported local pantries and shelters. They gave their time, energy, and talents simply because they wanted to make a difference.

Join United Way of Fairfield County for The Missing Middle: Hidden in Plain Sight — an engaging conference exploring the realities facing ALICE households and individuals experiencing poverty in our community.

ALICE households are working hard every day, yet often struggle to afford essentials like housing, transportation, childcare, healthcare, and food.

Through presentations and conversations with community and professional leaders, attendees will explore:

• The hidden challenges faced by ALICE households
• How poverty impacts families, workplaces, health, education, and community stability
• Practical ways to reduce barriers and create pathways to opportunity
• How we can build greater empathy, understanding, and solutions together
