The Lancaster Police Department proudly serves the Town of Lancaster, a community of 45,106 residents (as of the 2020 census). Lancaster is a suburb of the city of Buffalo, NY. The Department currently has 52 sworn officers and 15 civilian employees. In addition to our uniformed Patrol division, we have several specialized units, including a Detective Bureau, Emergency Response Team, Accident Investigation Unit and three School Resource Officers.
