📢 WE’RE LOOKING FOR COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVES!

Do you want to help shape the future of Fairfield County? The Fairfield County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) has three vacancies and is looking for residents who want to make a difference in their community!

The RPC is a volunteer commission which helps guide the county’s long-range planning, supports local communities, administers community development programs, and implements important subdivision, floodplain, and building codes.

We’re seeking representatives for the following positions:

🎓 Education Representative – Ideally someone from a K–12 school, technical school, or higher education institution who can bring the perspective of the educational community to the planning process.

🛍️ Retail Merchant Representative – Ideally someone who owns or works for a business that sells goods or services, including a local retailer, e-commerce business, or wholesaler.

🤝 Minority Representative – Ideally someone from or serving a minority population who can help ensure minority perspectives and interests are represented in community planning.

Who can serve? ✅ Must be at least 18 years old. ✅ Must be a resident of Fairfield County. ✅ Must be available to attend monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Fairfield County Records Center.

Meet Greg Irvine, Computer Support Specialist here at Fairfield County 💻 Greg helps county employees stay connected and get their work done by troubleshooting IT issues and managing account access.

What he enjoys most? Helping people. Whether he’s fixing a technical issue or making sure a system is working properly, Greg likes knowing he’s made someone’s day a little easier.

For anyone interested in IT, Greg’s advice is simple: build a strong foundation, keep learning and stay up to date with new technology.

The Fairfield County Fair wouldn’t be the same without the dedication and support of our Ohio State University Extension, Fairfield County Office! From supporting 4-H and FFA members to helping create opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and showcase their hard work, their involvement plays an important role in making the Fair such a meaningful part of our community.

Their commitment to our youth, families, and agricultural community helps carry on the traditions of the Fair while building the next generation of agricultural leaders.

There’s a lot that goes into keeping a community healthy, and the Fairfield County Health Department plays a role in many of those efforts. 🩺

The department provides vaccinations, supports families through programs like Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and Complex Medical Help (CMH), connects residents with healthcare and community resources, and provides services related to food safety, environmental health and vital records. The team also helps monitor public health threats, prepare for emergencies and promote healthy lifestyles.

From everyday services to communitywide health efforts, the Health Department works to promote health, prevent disease and protect the health and safety of Fairfield County residents.

Each year, the Fairfield County Commissioners purchase livestock at the Fairfield County Fair, Lancaster, Ohio using their own personal funds as a way to support the young people, families and programs that make the Fair such an important part of our community. 🍀

This year, the Commissioners purchased the grand champion steer and donated the meat to The Foundation Dinners.

Their support reflects a belief in the value of 4-H and FFA and the lessons young people gain through agriculture, responsibility and hands-on experience.
