With the recent passing of Dolly Parton, we wanted to take a moment to honor a woman whose impact reached far beyond music and entertainment. One of her greatest legacies is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which began in 1995 as a way to put books into the hands of children and has grown into a program that has mailed hundreds of millions of free, high-quality books to children around the world. Through the Imagination Library, children from birth to age five can receive a free book every month, regardless of their family’s income. We are proud that Lamont families have the opportunity to participate in this wonderful program. Dolly’s love of books and children will continue to make a difference for generations to come.

Lets try this again and hope Mother Nature cooperates! Our monthly craft is this Thursday. Join us at 4 and make your own macrame plant hanger. All materials are provided you just need to create the knots! All ages are welcome as long as your able to create a knot on your own.
Parents please accompany your children if under the age of 14.

It's BINGO day! Get out of the rain and join us for a few rounds of BINGO tonight at 6. Snacks, prizes, and plenty of laughs. We hope to see you!

Here’s a small snippet of what’s new this month at the Lamont Library! Stop in and check out our growing collection of new books.

Looking for something we don’t carry? Lamont Library is part of the Iowa Shares program, which allows us to borrow books from other libraries across the state. This program is especially valuable for smaller libraries like ours that don’t have the same budget as larger libraries.

So, if we don’t have something you’re desperate to read, don’t worry! That doesn’t mean you can’t get it through the Lamont Library. We’ll do our best to find it for you through Iowa Shares!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Lamont Public Library during Lamont Days! We loved welcoming hundreds of visitors who came in to play games and enjoy ice cream.
We're also proud to have earned 3rd Place for our parade float. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!
A special thank you to the Lamont Community Club for helping cover the cost of the ice cream and materials. We appreciate your support in making the day a success!

Only a few hours until the Block Party! Reminder: Library hours are changed for today. We will open after the parade (keep an eye out for the library float!) and stay open until 5. We have ice cream, games, and crafts free to the public! We hope to see you!
