Lamont School District voters have been assaulted with misinformation and lies for the past year while a disgraced ex-Superintendent from Fresno has led a brutal attack on our schools and community. It's time for this to end! We must come together to stop the person who has continually tried to tear down our schools and community institutions, and keep them from getting the power on our school board that they will stop at nothing to gain.

Don't believe the lies, and don't give up our community to someone who has proven they have no problem hurting our children, families, and community to get what they want!

Despite the efforts of those behind the two failed recalls and lawsuit against our local chamber to tear down our community... Thanks to the leadership of our local school board our kids will still have a great night at the Harvest Festival.

Lamont School District voters have a choice to vote for those who take support from the person behind these efforts to tear down our community... or for those who are working to protect our children and the events that let us come together and enjoy our community. Thank you to Mr. Garay and Ms. Velasquez, along with Dr. Gonzalez, for being willing to stand up for our children and protect them from the fallout of the continued attacks against our community!

As you may have heard, the same person who came here from out-of-town to lead two failed recall attempts and try to shut down our Chamber and community events… is now trying to sway our school board election.

He's demonstrated that he doesn't care about our community and children, and so we're asking our friends and neighbors to make sure he doesn't get a foothold into our kids’ school system! Instead, we ask that you vote for the candidates who have been at the helm for the past two years. They've done an outstanding job of steering our community and school district through all of the chaos and drama he's tried to create to support his personal agenda.

In case you haven’t heard the good news already - the recall effort is over and was unsuccessful! Thank you to the community of Lamont for safeguarding our student’s funds (your taxpayer money) and resisting this frivolous attempt to recall the board members you all voted for!

Did you know that LESD has just as many custodians as other similar size districts? This includes custodians to keep restrooms picked up during the day, clean them each evening, and coverage for all special events to make sure they're ready afterward for our students.

And we know our LESD custodians are committed to making sure bathrooms, and all facilities, are clean and safe for our students! Most custodial staff live in or are closely connected to our community, and so work hard to make sure every part of the schools are ready for their friends, neighbors, and own children to be in each day.

The State of California agrees that our schools are being kept safe and clean by our custodial team! Every school district in the state is reviewed annually through an in-person visit to verify this as a requirement under the Williams Settlement. Lamont Elementary School District has clean record, with no findings on this year's Williams monitoring visit, or in recent years either.

Williams lawsuit which provides all students equal access to instructional materials, quality teachers, and safe schools.

Did you know that a recall election would take place only a few months before voters are already scheduled to vote for new school board members?

Even if recall proponents could get that many signatures, the county has until February to verify them, and then an election could not legally be held until at least the middle of May, and could be as far out as June. Is it really worth taking our taxpayer dollars away from our students to hold a special election just a few months early?

Did you know that our schools are the ones who would have to pay for this recall election? The entire cost of the election would take your taxpayer dollars away from the students they were meant for. And we don't even know what the price tag is!

Another California school district about twice the size of Lamont recently recalled just two of its board members, at a cost of over $300,000!!! Money that came straight from things their students need to learn.

Don't be fooled into signing away your taxpayer dollars that are meant for our students!

Ousted school board member Kenney Enney won back his seat with 54.3% of the vote.

A Wasteful Recall Over Telehealth?

Did you know that districts across the state AND nation provide high-quality speech therapy (as well as MANY other health and Special Education services) by telehealth?

Although many districts choose this because there's such a shortage of qualified therapists, for our Lamont students it means our students have access to the best-trained and most experienced therapists anywhere in the state! Even though it can be a challenge to get providers to move to rural areas like Lamont, thanks to Zoom our students can access service providers that are just as high-quality as those providing services in even California's biggest cities.

Bakersfield Now visited the district and shared how LESD is using this challenge as an opportunity to get our students the best quality services available in the state.

Some parents in the Lamont School District are working to get four out of the five board members ousted.
