This morning, Rescue Engine 17 attended the New Hope Eagle Fire Company’s annual 9/11 memorial ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of that tragic day. Alongside members from multiple mutual aid companies, rescue squads, and police departments, we stood united to honor and remember the innocent lives lost and the incredible heroism of the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget.

Five years ago this week, the remnants of Hurricane Ida hit our community. From September 1–3, 2021, our team answered more than 100 calls, rescued multiple citizens, checked numerous buildings, and assisted in cleaning up the city streets. Even though only a few members were on duty and additional members were unable to make it into the city, we handled every single call.Five years later, we stand just as ready, dedicated, and proud to protect our community.
