We are OPEN! Lots of books returned, considering we were closed for the week. Good news is, I am training someone today who will be working during the week! They are working on the road right now so please park in alley if you can.

Lakota City Library will be closed this week due to shortage of staff. The library will be open this Saturday, August 22nd from 10-4. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are actively working towards a solution.

We had 19 kids today and they got to see a real fossil and some old seashells in the museum, we read a funny book about a Dinosaur in a grocery store and made salt dough fossils with plastic dinosaurs, fossils and shark teeth from our fossil dig box! Now Hayley will bake them and get them ready to take home next week!

Recipe for salt dough:
2c flour
1c salt
1/2c warm water (I ended up using a cup because it felt too dry)

Bake at 250F for 2-3 hours to dry out!

Thank you to all of our patrons that visit our library! We will be OPEN tomorrow so please come stock up for weekend reading. CLOSED on Saturday, July 4th so our staff can spend the day celebrating with family and friends.
