This week celebrates National Co-Responder and Crisis Responder Week!
As the demand for mental health and substance use services continues to rise, these selfless responders are stepping up to bridge the gap between law enforcement and behavioral health care.

Here at the Lakewood Police Department, we want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on our own incredible Co-Responder team. Our civilian experts work side-by-side with our Agents every single day, bringing specialized expertise, profound compassion, and vital resources to those experiencing a crisis.

They are an absolutely essential part of our department, and their ability to de-escalate situations and connect our community members with the right care and services is nothing short of amazing.

Please join us in thanking our LPD Co-Responders for the extraordinary and important work they do to keep Lakewood safe and supported!

🚨 MISSING JUVENILE ALERT 🚨

Please be on the lookout for Dulce Rodriguez, 15. She was last seen leaving a house in the 1200 block of South Depew St at about 9:00 pm on 09.12.26.

She is about 5’5”, 150 lbs, with long black hair to her waist. She was last seen wearing a light orange dress and white Nike shoes.

This morning 13 members of the Lakewood Police Department joined the 9/11 Red Rocks Stair Climb.

Joined by South Metro Fire Rescue and the Denver Fire Department we climbed 110 stories to honor and remember the 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers and thousands of innocent lives lost on September 11th, 2001.

We carry their courage in our hearts and we will never forget.

We thank all who showed up to support and climb. We also thank the FOP for sponsoring our team.

A quarter-century later, the Lakewood Police Department continues to honor the memory of the innocent lives lost, the unparalleled bravery of the first responders who ran toward danger, and every family forever changed by that day. During our Drone Team’s training session at Addenbrooke Park today, we had a great group of kids come over to check out the equipment. Our team had a fantastic time answering their questions and showing off some of the tech we use to help keep Lakewood safe.

We hope our community enjoys a well-deserved day of rest, relaxation, and celebration with family and friends. Whether you're firing up the grill, heading to the park, or just taking it easy at home, we want you to have a fantastic holiday.

As you celebrate today, please remember to keep safety a priority. If your plans include alcohol, make the smart choice and arrange a sober ride home. Let's look out for one another. We’ll be out here working to keep our roads and neighborhoods safe for everyone.

Join us for our Cops that Cook pancake breakfast fundraiser on Friday, September 18, from 7-10 A.M. at the Clements Community Center!

Stop by for pancakes prepared by City of Lakewood Police! All proceeds benefit the Lakewood Police Department Spouses Group, who helps to provide meals and support to other spouse's and Agents during the holidays and times of need. Tickets are just $6 for adults and $4 for kids.
