Bookish Movie Monday: Blind Date Book Club

This cute movie had all the things you’d want from a bookish Hallmark rom com. Adorable book store on Nantucket. Author with a secret. Easy to like characters. That chick from When Calls the Heart. A lovely story to watch with some tea and a fuzzy blanket.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book is a wild ride of humor, fantasy, queerness and a dash of kink.

It is the most unique book I’ve read in a very long time. Calling it a “Romantsy” doesn’t do it justice but there is a growing romance of an unusual nature within a story that is definitely fantasy based, so that’s what we will go with.

About half way through the book, when it felt like it could be approaching the end, things took a turn and I was led on a whole new journey. In the end the story has yet another huge twist and I had to rethink everything that had happened before.

The audiobook was incredibly fun to listen to and I found myself actually listening to it in my house (which I never do) so I could get a bit more story.

Will there be more to this story? There certainly could be but I was satisfied with the somewhat open ending. Normally I would’ve given a fun, humorous romance 3.75 or 4 out of 5 stars, but it earned 5 out of 5 stars simply for surprising me over and over again.
