Ocean County Park This magnificent facility in Lakewood has a rich and fascinating history. Ocean County Park was originally part of Financier John D.

Bike trail, cross-country skiing, driving range, fishing,3.2 mile perimeter walking trail, open playing fields, large picnic area, playgrounds, restrooms, softball fields, swimming lake, tennis and pickleball courts, 18 hole disc golf course. Rockefeller's vacation estate. White pine, Norway spruces, hemlock and other unique specimen trees, now mature, were imported by Rockefeller from all over th

e country. Tennis and picleball courts, open play fields, and even a driving range, all free of charge, appeal to adults of all ages, and children will delight in using the playgrounds or swimming in the large, clean swimming lake on hot summer days. Warm weather isn't the only time to enjoy this park, however. Transformed into a lovely and silent winter wonderland after a snowfall, it's a great site for cross-country skiing. Of course, there is no charge for casual use of the park, the beach or its other many facilities. Ocean County Park has a large, accessible picnic facility. Reservations are available for a nominal fee for up to 600 persons. Call 1-732-506-9090 a minimum of three weeks prior to the requested date for more information. These sites fill up fast, so don't wait too long to make a reservation! Facilities:

Nature Poetry Writing Workshop
This program is to help writers of all experience levels with writing nature-inspired poetry. Workshop will begin with reading some examples of published poetry along with group discussion of the selected reading, followed by some generative exercises, as well as a free-writing session. The group will reconvene and share a poem they have written at the end of the session if they wish. This program is primarily a generative workshop critique will not be a focus, though the instructor is happy to provide suggestions and feedback.
