Congratulations, Erin!
True leadership is built through consistency β showing up, working hard, lifting others up, and choosing every day to make a difference. Congratulations to Erin Boyer, recipient of the Donald & Annamarie Chick Family Scholarship!
During her time at Lakewood High School, Erin has distinguished herself as a student-athlete, community leader, and passionate advocate for service. A varsity volleyball captain, NHS member, peer mediator, coach, and Student Visionary with Blood Cancer United, Erin has dedicated countless hours to supporting others both inside and outside of school.
Erinβs teachers and mentors describe her as driven, compassionate, organized, and someone who inspires others through both her work ethic and positivity. Through her leadership with Blood Cancer United, Erin volunteered more than 200 hours while helping raise awareness and support for families impacted by cancer. Her willingness to think creatively, motivate others, and step outside her comfort zone made her a standout leader within the organization.
In her scholarship essay, Erin reflected on how athletics and service helped her understand that meaningful change requires passion, commitment, and accountability. As captain of the volleyball team, she worked to create a positive and supportive environment for younger teammates, while her volunteer work reinforced the importance of using leadership to serve something greater than herself.
Erin plans to study Finance after graduation at Ohio State University and hopes to continue using the leadership skills and sense of purpose she developed at Lakewood High School throughout her future career and community involvement.
Congratulations, Erin! Your dedication, leadership, and commitment to making a difference truly embody Ranger pride.
