Congratulations, Erin!

True leadership is built through consistency β€” showing up, working hard, lifting others up, and choosing every day to make a difference. Congratulations to Erin Boyer, recipient of the Donald & Annamarie Chick Family Scholarship!

During her time at Lakewood High School, Erin has distinguished herself as a student-athlete, community leader, and passionate advocate for service. A varsity volleyball captain, NHS member, peer mediator, coach, and Student Visionary with Blood Cancer United, Erin has dedicated countless hours to supporting others both inside and outside of school.

Erin’s teachers and mentors describe her as driven, compassionate, organized, and someone who inspires others through both her work ethic and positivity. Through her leadership with Blood Cancer United, Erin volunteered more than 200 hours while helping raise awareness and support for families impacted by cancer. Her willingness to think creatively, motivate others, and step outside her comfort zone made her a standout leader within the organization.

In her scholarship essay, Erin reflected on how athletics and service helped her understand that meaningful change requires passion, commitment, and accountability. As captain of the volleyball team, she worked to create a positive and supportive environment for younger teammates, while her volunteer work reinforced the importance of using leadership to serve something greater than herself.

Erin plans to study Finance after graduation at Ohio State University and hopes to continue using the leadership skills and sense of purpose she developed at Lakewood High School throughout her future career and community involvement.

Congratulations, Erin! Your dedication, leadership, and commitment to making a difference truly embody Ranger pride.

Congratulations, Ella!

Leadership is not just about holding a title β€” it’s about showing up for your team, your school, and your community every single day. Congratulations to Ella Bower, recipient of the 2026 Carol Webb Scholarship!

Throughout her time at Lakewood High School, Ella has distinguished herself as a leader both on and off the field. A four-year varsity softball player and longtime member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT), Ella currently serves as SALT President and Chairperson of the Ranger Readers program, helping connect student-athletes with younger students throughout the district. Her excellence in softball was highlighted by her selection as Cleveland West Conference Player of the Year.

Teachers, coaches, and mentors describe Ella as hardworking, compassionate, resilient, and deeply committed to serving others. Through volunteer work, mentorship opportunities, youth pitching instruction, and community outreach initiatives, she has worked to make a meaningful impact on the Lakewood community while encouraging younger Rangers to do the same.

In her scholarship essay, Ella reflected on how athletics and leadership experiences taught her perseverance, responsibility, and the importance of using difficult experiences as opportunities for growth. She also shared the lasting impact that supportive staff members and mentors at Lakewood High School had on her personal journey and leadership development.

Balancing academics, athletics, service, and leadership, Ella has consistently demonstrated the discipline and determination that define the Ranger spirit. After graduation, she plans to attend Ashland University to study Criminal Justice while continuing her softball career at the collegiate level.

Congratulations, Ella! Thank you for the leadership, positivity, and dedication you have brought to Lakewood High School and the greater community.

Congratulations, Alexandra!

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we're proud to introduce the exceptional students who received scholarships through the Lakewood Rangers Education Foundation this year!

When Alexandra Adamov began high school, she described herself as a nervous freshman simply trying to find her place. Four years later, she leaves Lakewood High School as a confident leader, accomplished student, varsity captain, and future Music Technology major. Congratulations to Alexandra, recipient of the LHS Class of 1960 Scholarship!

Throughout her time at LHS, Alexandra embraced every opportunity to grow academically, personally, and creatively. A standout student in the Electronic Engineering program through West Shore Career-Tech, Alexandra challenged herself with advanced coursework while developing hands-on problem-solving and technical skills that helped shape her future career goals in sound and music technology.

Outside the classroom, Alexandra dedicated herself to athletics and leadership through four years of girls soccer, serving as varsity captain during her senior year. Her coaches describe her as a hardworking resilient leader who helped positively shape the culture of the program both on and off the field.

Alexandra also contributed to the community through H2O, church volunteer work, youth soccer camps, and mentoring opportunities while balancing work responsibilities and family commitments at home.

In her scholarship essay, Alexandra reflected honestly on the personal challenges she faced during high school. Through engineering, athletics, and the support of the Lakewood community, she learned to embrace mistakes as opportunities for growth and discovered confidence in her ability to overcome obstacles.

Alexandra will attend Ohio University to study Music Technology, combining her technical skills with her passion for music and sound production.
Congratulations, Alexandra! Your determination, leadership, and resilience will continue to inspire those around you.

Read what some of our alumni employees had to say about returning to Lakewood, the impact their former teachers had on them, and why being a Ranger is something that stays with you for life. πŸ’œπŸ’›
