After a severe assault on the street, Felix spent two months in the hospital with a traumatic brain injury.

From there, he was referred to RecoveryWorks’ medical respite program to continue healing.

For the first time, he was able to rest, receive consistent support, and begin rebuilding.

“I was given a second chance at life,” he shared.

Today, Felix is working and taking steps toward stable housing.

Access to a safe place to recover after a hospital stay is critical. Without it, many people return to the emergency room—or the street—instead of moving forward.

Through May 20, every gift will be matched dollar for dollar—helping create the stability needed for healing and long-term progress.

Huge congratulations to our 42 runners and walkers this weekend!

We’re so grateful you chose RecoveryWorks as your Charity Partner in our first year participating in the Colfax Marathon.

It meant a lot to see so many people show up, represent this work, and be part of a community that believes stability should be possible for everyone.

We’re excited to build on this momentum and grow this team in the years ahead.

Diane spent 40 years in survival mode.

Addiction had taken hold. She had lost the people closest to her. Stability felt out of reach.

At RecoeryWorks, things started to shift.

For the first time in decades, she had a safe place to stay--a door that locked, a place to rest, and consistent support.

Today, she says:
“This is the first time I’ve been sober in 40 years. I haven’t been this happy in a long time.”

Stability makes recovery possible.

Olin was just trying to get through each day.

After an injury, his income dropped to $1,300 a month. It wasn’t enough to cover rent—and eventually, he ended up outside.

Then he found his way to RecoveryWorks.

Today, he has a place to sleep. A door that locks.
“One less thing to worry about.”

At RecoveryWorks, stability looks like safe housing, consistent support, and time to move forward.

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week!

We’re feeling especially grateful for the people who show up for RecoveryWorks—bringing meals, leading groups, supporting our welcome desk, and helping care for our space. Those small, consistent acts make a real difference for both our guests and our team.

Jim has been volunteering with us since our first year, offering weekly AcuDetox sessions at Mountain View Flats—a simple, 5-point ear acupuncture practice that helps reduce stress, support recovery, and calm the nervous system. He values being a steady, calm presence and giving people space to breathe and feel a little more at ease.

Jim says, “When people first come in, there’s a lot of dysregulation going on. AcuDetox helps calm the nervous system, supports sleep, and creates a foundation for recovery and stability.”

Good news—we’ve updated and expanded our volunteer opportunities. Come be part of creating stability for our unhoused neighbors in Jefferson County.

Sarah was living in a tent this winter.

It started with street outreach—someone showing up, building trust, and helping her find a way inside. From there, she moved into Mountain View Flats to stabilize her health and rebuild daily life.

Last week, she moved into her first apartment in years—and is now working to get her daughter back.

Street outreach is often the first step toward stability.
