Fifth Street - 2nd Alarm Structure Fire - 5/9/26

Early Saturday morning, crews responded to a well-involved structure fire in an abandoned building on Fifth Street.

Lag Baomer (May 4th-5th)

Volunteer members staffed two dedicated bonfire standbys while also responding to over a dozen calls for service. These calls included several brush fires, fire alarms, and a challenging underground storm drain fire that took over three hours to fully extinguish using a DPW jetting truck.

In-person permit assistance will be available at Lakewood Fire Headquarters (733 Cedar Bridge Ave)

During last week’s blizzard, the LFD responded to over 100 calls within 24 hours. Members stood by from Sunday evening through Monday evening to ensure fast response times amid the influx of storm-related calls.
