Today, we are proud to share something truly special. This video documentary marks the beginning of a year-long celebration of Lakewood Village’s 50th anniversary—a milestone that represents not just time, but the people, vision, and spirit that have shaped our community.

For fifty years, Lakewood Village has been a place where neighbors know one another, where growth has been guided with intention, and where a deep respect for our roots continues to shape our future. This video tells that story—our story.

It reflects where we started, how far we’ve come, and the thoughtful, forward-looking community we continue to build together. Every resident, past and present, is a part of this journey. As we begin this anniversary year, we invite you to watch, reflect, and celebrate with us. Here’s to 50 years of Lakewood Village—and to everything still ahead.

This is our story.

WHAT'S IN THE SKY - MARCH 2026

March 3: Lunar Eclipse of Full Worm Moon
This eclipse is visible in North America. To see it, you will need an unobstructed view of the western horizon. The Moon will be in the West getting ready to set. Around 3:50 AM CST, you should see Earth's shadow begin to cross the Moon. Totality should start around 5:00 AM CST. 5:40 AM CST Totality should be at Maximum. By this time the Moon will be pretty close to the horizon. Totality ends around 6:04 AM CST. At this point Sunrise may start to interfere. By the time Earth's shadow begins to exit, the Moon is on the horizon. The remainder of the eclipse will finish with the Moon below the horizon and the Sun rising. The actual full Moon will rise later around 7:00 PM CST after sunset.

March 7-8: Saturn - Venus Conjunction
Saturn and Venus will appear extremely close to each other near the western horizon just after sunset.

March 8: Daylight Savings time begins.
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward 1 hour. The Sun will set later and later as we move into Summer.

March 18: New Moon
March marks the start of galaxy season. The New Moon is a great time to get out a telescope and see them.

March 20: Crescent Moon pairs with Venus after Sunset
A very thin crescent Moon will be near Venus in the West after sunset - around 8:30 PM CST. Both will be near the horizon. Each night after that the Moon will climber higher in the sky moving away from Venus. The crescent will become wider each night until the 24th when it will be a quarter Moon.
March 20: Spring Equinox
Spring begins with the vernal equinox on the 20th. This marks the start of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the start of Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. The Sun will rise perfectly due east and set due west. Daylight and darkness are nearly equal. Days continue getting longer afterward.

March 25-26: Jupiter and Moon Pair Together
The Moon hovers next to Jupiter for two nights in a row. This stunning conjunction is visible for hours. They are closest together on the 25th after midnight.

Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mercury are all visible at different times throughout the month.

It has been brought to our attention that some of your bulk was skipped or you received tags denying collection because the limbs were not cut and bound. Republic Services had some new drivers in the area and they were not aware that Lakewood Village is not required to bundle our tree limbs. Republic will be back through town tomorrow to collect the piles that were not collected last Saturday.
