🚨POLICE BLOTTER JUNE 7-13 🚨

• Officers documented a fall from a deck at 17### Glacier Way where the victim was leaning on a railing when it gave way, sending him head first onto a stair landing. Fortunately, the victim was alert and conscious and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

• A homeowner at 17### Eveleth Ave reported a possible burglary in progress. The caller reported that the front door was open and items were out of place. Officers cleared the residence and did not observe any signs of forced entry, and all valuables were accounted for. A good reminder to always lock your doors.

• Community Service Officers took custody of an injured kitten located near 17### Glacier Way. The kitten was taken to Dakota Pet Hospital for evaluation.

• Officers responded to a report of a male found unresponsive in a garage. Upon arrival, officers determined the male was in cardiac arrest and began life saving measures. The Lakeville Fire Department arrived on scene and assisted before transporting him to the hospital.

• Officers responded to a two-vehicle t-bone crash at 190th St and Dodd Blvd after an eastbound vehicle failed to yield to a northbound vehicle. One driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, and the at-fault driver was cited.

• Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash in a roundabout. The driver was showing signs of impairment and provided a DMT sample of 0.19g/210L and was subsequently booked in Dakota County Jail for 3rd Degree DWI and possession of an open cannabis package.

• Officers responded to a two-vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of CR-46 and Foliage Ave. The at-fault driver made a left turn on a flashing yellow arrow and did not yield to the other vehicle with the right of way, and the at-fault driver was cited. Luckily no injuries were sustained but he intersection was briefly shut down.

• A semaphore citation was issued at Kenwood Trl and I-35 to the at-fault driver who blew the red light and caused a crash. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

• Officers responded to 17### Kenrick Ave after a report of a shoplifting incident. An individual had concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. Officers identified the suspect, who admitted to the theft. The suspect was cited, trespassed from the business, posted bail on an outstanding warrant, and was later released.

• Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and had multiple lane use violations which led to a traffic stop. The driver was identified and placed through the standard field sobriety testing. The driver performed poorly and provided a DMT-g sample of 0.23/210L and was transported to Dakota County Jail for 3rd Degree DWI.

She is doing well and receiving medical care. Thank you to everyone who has shared this post!

If her owner is not located by Wednesday 6/17, we have a rescue lined up to take her in and continue her care.

🐾FOUND DOG 🐾

This sweet female black poodle was found near the I-35 on-ramp from CR-70 and is currently being cared for.

She is very friendly and was found wearing a pink collar (no tags), a pink bandana, and a bow in her hair. Unfortunately, she does not have a microchip. She also appears to have a broken leg and a displaced hip.

🚔POLICE BLOTTER MAY 31 - JUNE 6 🚔

• While on routine patrol, officers observed a vehicle with inoperable brake lights and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance. The driver was following an RV driven by her friend who happened to have a Cancelled-IPS driving status. The RV driver was booked and released at Dakota County Jail, and the plates were seized and entered into evidence.

• Officers responded to an injury accident at 215th St and Dodd Blvd after a driver making a left turn on a flashing yellow arrow proceeded into the intersection and collided with an oncoming vehicle. The other vehicle had damage and the driver was transported to the hospital for injuries. The at-fault driver was cited for failure to yield.

• Officers responded to 16### Kenrick Ave for a disturbance after a suspect reportedly got in the reporting party’s face and yelled at him. When officers attempted to make contact, the suspect fled on an e-bike. Officers quickly caught up with him, and he was issued a citation for misdemeanor fleeing and earned a trip to Dakota County Jail.

• Officers responded to a residence after a report of an unknown female pounding on their front door. Contact was made and it was determined that the female had driven to that home under the influence, submitted to the standard field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. After providing a breath sample of 0.15 blood alcohol content she was transported to Dakota County Jail for 3rd Degree DWI and was issued a trespass notice.

• Officers took a report from 17### Kenrick Ave for a past action theft. Contact was made with the subject, who admitted to the theft and concealing items in his backpack. The suspect was issued a citation for the theft and was released.

• Officers responded to a vehicle verses residence crash where the homeowners stated the vehicle had driven through a window. When officers arrived, the vehicle was empty and they conducted a search to locate the driver. The driver was located nearby, was displaying signs of impairment and was subsequently placed under arrest.

• A lab was found roaming at 170th St and Flagstaff Ave and contact with the owner was unsuccessful. The dog was impounded at Barks & Rec.

• Community Service Officers took custody of a boxer mix swimming in a koi pond near 16### Illinois Ave. The dog didn’t have a tag or microchip and was impounded at Barks & Rec.

• Officers, along with the Lakeville Fire Department, responded to a structure fire at 17### Illinois Ct. It was determined that a water leak onto an electrical panel caused a small contained fire. Fortunately, no residents were injured.

🚔POLICE BLOTTER MAY 24-30 🚔

• Officers responded to an early morning slumper stopped in an intersection. Officers made contact with the driver, who was clearly under the influence. The driver completed the standard field sobriety tests and provided a preliminary breath test sample of 0.19 blood alcohol content. The driver was subsequently arrested for DWI.

• A theft from vehicle occurred at 16### Finch Way. A vehicle had been left unlocked and was rummaged through, with cash and a wallet reported stolen. A reminder to always lock your vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.

• A traffic accident report was completed for a two-vehicle crash on Cedar Ave and 160th St W. The at-fault driver traveled the wrong way through a turn lane into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained. The at-fault driver was cited for duty to drive with due care.

• Officers responded to a three-vehicle crash at Pilot K**b Rd and 179th St caused by failure to yield. The at-fault driver, who had a flashing yellow arrow, turned in front of a vehicle with a solid green light. The impact of the crash pushed the vehicle with the right of way into another vehicle stopped at the intersection. Several occupants were evaluated with minor injuries. The at-fault driver was cited, and another driver involved was cited for driving after suspension.

• Officers stopped a vehicle after the registered owner was found to have a Driving After Cancellation – Inimical to Public Safety driving status. The driver was confirmed to be the owner and was placed under arrest.

• Officers stopped a vehicle for lane use violations, and the driver appeared to be showing signs of impairment. The driver performed poorly on the standard field sobriety tests and provided a DMT sample of 0.10g/210L and was subsequently arrested and later released to a sober party.

• Officers located a vehicle with a cancelled-IPS driving status and the owner was confirmed. The driver was arrested and booked and later released from Dakota County Jail.

• Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 185th St W and Judicial Rd after an eastbound vehicle went northbound on Judicial and failed to yield to the westbound vehicle, causing a collision. The driver was cited and a traffic accident report was completed.

• A traffic accident report was written for a two-vehicle t-bone crash caused by failure to yield at Ipava Ave and 183rd S. The at-fault driver attempted to make a left turn and collided with the vehicle with the right of way. The at-fault driver was cited and luckily no injuries were sustained.

• Officers responded to a report of a slumper at a gas pump. The driver was identified and found to be intoxicated. The driver performed poorly on the standard field sobriety tests and provided a breath sample of 0.18 blood alcohol content and was booked into Dakota County Jail.
