Public Announcement

The Lakeside City Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $300,000 grant from the Texas Forest Service to help purchase a new pumper/tender.

This new apparatus will be a tremendous upgrade for our department and our community. It will carry 50% more water than our current 21-year-old tender and provide twice the pumping capacity, allowing it to serve as a backup to our structure firefighting engine when needed. This capability is essential to maintaining our favorable ISO fire protection rating, which can help keep homeowners’ insurance costs lower throughout our service area.

The total cost of the new pumper/tender is $417,000. While the grant covers the majority of the purchase price, the Lakeside City Volunteer Fire Department must raise the remaining $117,000.
To meet this goal, we will be conducting several fundraising events between now and May 2027.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support our community has shown over the years. Your generosity has always been the foundation of our success, and we ask that you continue to support your volunteer fire department as we work toward this important investment in the safety of our community.

Together, we can ensure that the Lakeside City Volunteer Fire Department remains equipped and ready to serve whenever the call comes.

Thank you for your continued support!

The Heatwave fire consumed 17.6 acres yesterday along T Bone and Huff Road. Thankfully we had help from Bowman Vfd and Wichita Falls Fire Department to keep the fire to a minimum. The map attached was provided by Bowman VFD.

This is a public service announcement.

PLEASE DO NOT BURN YOUR TRASH RIGHT NOW!!

We do not care how long you have been doing it or how safe you think you are. Two departments wasted fuel, cut three fence lines and damaged equipment for something that could have been fully preventable.

There was an accident today. Please keep the families and friends of those involved in your prayers.
