Hammond Park in Nice will be temporarily closed beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025, to allow for significant upgrades and improvements. The improvements are made possible through a $2.3 million grant from the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program, as well as local funds from Quimby Park Development fees and the County General Fund.

The planned improvements include new playground equipment, walking trails, sports fields, lighting, dog park improvements and more. These improvements are designed to increase recreational opportunities, improve accessibility, and create a safer, more enjoyable park experience for all residents.

Construction is expected to be completed by early 2026. During this time, the park will remain closed to the public to ensure safety. Alternative recreation opportunities are available in Upper Lake, Nice and Lucerne.

If you have any questions, please call the Lake County Public Services office at (707) 262-1618, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
