We are elated to share that Mrs. Knighten has been selected as a High Impact Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year! 🎉🎉

The High Impact Teacher Cohort is administered through the Florida Department of Education and is a yearlong professional development opportunity for teachers who have excelled at improving outcomes for their students and schools. Mrs. Knighten will participate alongside some of the best teachers in Florida and we are beaming with pride.

We have some exciting news to share with our school community! 📣

We have been recognized by the FLPBIS: MTSS Project as a 2025-2026 PBIS Model School! 🎉 🎉

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a 3-tiered evidence-based prevention framework that leads to reduced exclusionary discipline and improved student and teacher outcomes when fully implemented. By establishing PBIS, we are developing skills, enhancing our school environment, acknowledging appropriate behavior, and using data to identify supports for all of our students and teachers.

As a PBIS Model School, we are committed to the effective implementation of PBIS and are seeking positive outcomes for all!

We are excited to share that our school has been selected as a recipient of GROW Recess kits for all K–5 classroom teachers from non-profit GROW Healthy Kids!

GROW Recess provides versatile, portable recess equipment to K–5 school classrooms that encourages independent, child‑led active play. These adaptable kits promote creativity and movement, enhance classroom focus, foster cooperation among peers, and transform a variety of play areas into engaging spaces for imaginative play.

We are so thankful to our community partners, GROW Healthy Kids, Orlando Health, and Watson Clinic, for this fantastic opportunity for our students!

🎶 Mr. Bracchi shares his love of music with our students every day, and 🎨 Mrs. Richardson brings creativity to life in the art room.

Both teachers started their journeys right here in Lakeland at Harrison!

We’re lucky to have them shaping our fine arts program and inspiring our students here at Jesse Keen Elementary.
