Our FCHoF Student Fellow, Kendra Belton, wrote her sixth blog installment of her studies on the comparisons of California and Florida citrus crate labels. This week she explores the sexual-racial stereotypes of Florida and California’s citrus crate labels in the early to middle twentieth century.
Please note: Certain citrus crate labels displayed in this post contain offensive language and/or visual representations of people, whether based on race, ethnicity, gender, or any other aspect of identity. These labels do not reflect the views of the McKay Archives, Florida Southern College, or the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame.
To support our students and read her article, you can find the link to our blog, where our FCHoF Student Fellows conduct research on various subjects within the citrus industry.
