Boy Scout Troop 864’s annual firewood sale is going on now. If you need firewood, please let us know. The Scouts have been working hard to get wood ready to sell. While supplies last, A full cord of wood delivered to the Lakeland area is $220, a half cord delivered is $130, and quarter cord delivered is $75. A cord of fire wood is 8’ X 4’ X 4’ stacked. The firewood is also available for pickup by appointment. For pickup, take $10 off the price. You can reach us by phone or text to 229.482.5667 or contact any Troop member.

Great weekend of work put in at the Burnt church project Eagle Scout Project. Lots of Scouts pitching in to help, and one earning a Merit Badge. We are still waiting on the windows to be repaired, but all that's left is some touch up paint and staining the new wood on the porches and ramp. Many Thanks to all that helped out this weekend!

As the new school year begins, many youth are looking for extra curricular activities to get into. If you have a boy or girl in grades 1st thru 5th, consider having them join Cub Scouts. For Boys from 5th grade thru 12th grade, Boy Scout Troop 864 has an active program that teaches them independence, life skills, citizenship, Duty to God, and service to others.

More progress on the Eagle Scout Project at Union “Burnt” Church. A few more weekends of working in this ridiculous heat and work should be completed.

Work has officially started on another Eagle Scout project for Troop 864. The next phase of restoring Historic Union “Burnt” Church is being led by Scout Dakota Prescott. Members of the troop started by pressure washing the exterior of the building and will complete the pressure washing and begin scraping and caulking the building in preparation for a fresh coat or two of white paint in time for the church’s 200th Birthday! Those helping left to right were: Kody Stiller, Blake Stiller, Everette Maxwell, Jason Maxwell, Dakota Prescott, Gavin Burns, Jerry Freeman, Skyler Douglas, Chris Burns

Skyler Douglas completed his Eagle Scout Board of Review tonight, to become the newest Eagle Scout from Troop 864. Other members the Troop came to show their support. Afterwards Skyler chose to celebrate at Taco Bell.

Congratulations Skyler, you have worked hard and have earned the Eagle Scout Rank and I’m proud of the fine young man you have become.
