🍿🔺 Learning Shapes Has Never Been So Delicious! 🔵🟨

Our first grade classes had a shape-tastic time learning about 2-D and 3-D figures! ⭐

Students brought in a variety of shape-inspired snacks, created their own snack mixes, and then got to work identifying, comparing, and sorting their snacks based on their shapes. 📐🔷

And the best part? After all that hard work, they got to eat their math! 😋🍪

Who knew learning about 2-D and 3-D figures could be this much fun? Our Churchwell Stars are shining bright! ⭐💙💛

🌟 Our Stars Are Modeling Their Way to Science Success! 🔬✨

What happens when you mix science + creativity + Play-Doh? Some pretty amazing learning! 💙💛

Our 3rd grade scientists in Mr. Roberts’ classes put the benchmark SC.3.N.3.2 into action by creating 3D models to help explain a science phenomenon! 🧑‍🔬👩‍🔬

Students chose a phenomenon connected to nature, animals, space, or machines and then brought their ideas to life using Play-Doh. 🌎🐾🚀⚙️

But they didn’t stop at creating! Students also wrote a reflection explaining how their model helped them better understand and learn about their chosen phenomenon. 📝🧠

We love seeing our Churchwell Stars learning through creativity, hands-on experiences, and scientific thinking! ⭐️

⭐️🔷 Our 1st Grade STARS were busy learning today! 🔷⭐️

Our first graders in Ms. Young’s class were hard at work composing and decomposing hexagons! ✨ They explored how shapes can be put together and taken apart in different ways while building their math skills. 🧩📐
