It is with great sadness that Medina Lake Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of longtime member and dear friend, Bill Beedle on August 31, 2026.
Bill served our department and community as a volunteer firefighter for nearly 19 years. He was truly one of the nicest people you could ever meet—a friend to everyone, always willing to help, and a man whose kindness and faith were evident in the way he lived his life.
Bill also had a special impact on the young people of our community. He served as the leader of the Medina Lake VFD Fire Explorers and spent several years teaching shop at Bandera High School, sharing his knowledge, patience, and guidance with another generation.
Above all, Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and deeply religious man. He leaves behind his wife, Kelly; his children, Daniel, David, Anna, Ruth, and Ethan; his grandchildren; and countless friends whose lives were better for having known him.
Our hearts and prayers are with Kelly and the entire Beedle family during this difficult time.
Rest easy, Bill. Thank you for nearly 19 years of service, friendship, and dedication. You will be deeply missed.

MLVFD receives its funding entirely from donations. We receive no money from the county, state or federal government. All of our staff are volunteers and receive no pay.

The coming boot drive is one of our 3 annual fund raisers and our last boot drive was cancelled due to weather. Please give what you can so we can continue to serve our community.

Last night MLVFD cleared a tree that fell due to the bad weather and was partially blocking a roadway. We do a lot more than just putting out fires.

Due to the extreme dry and hot conditions creating dangerous conditions Bandera County has reinstated the burn ban.

Yesterday, MLVFD received a new shipment of fire hoses to replace those that were worn or no longer serviceable. A big thank-you to our community for your continued support, which helps us remain ready to serve and protect you.
