Parks and Playground Update

In compliance with Governor Pritzker's Executive Order 2020-10, residents are reminded that playgrounds, basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts, and any other type of playing surface are closed.

Note the order specifically states that individuals may leave their residence to engage in outdoor activity such as walking, hiking, running, or biking and may go to public parks and open outdoor recreation areas if they comply with the Social Distancing Requirements defined in the order.

If playgrounds are too tempting for you or your kids, here are some parks that have beautiful open areas and/or walking paths to enjoy without the play amenities:

Bird Observation Area, 40 Lions Drive
Countryside East Soccer Field, 683 Old Mill Grove Road
Countryside West Soccer Field, 1200 Deerpath Road
Kuechmann Arboretum, 626 North Old Rand Road
Oak Ridge Marsh Nature Park, 500 Lions Drive
Promenade, 150 West Main Street
Whispering Creek Trail, 935 Lorie Lane

Please practice social distancing while enjoying the paths.

A Chestnut Corner's neighbor would like some feedback:

"We are thinking of remodeling our basement (it’s already finished, but needs changes). Please share names of handymen or contractors that are reasonably priced and trustworthy. We live in the Wedgewood model, so would love to see pictures of how others in that model finished their basement. Thanks in advance!"
