Since leaving the Illinois Senate, I’ve continued my work in public policy as CEO of the Accessibility Policy Institute, focused on advancing practical, results-oriented solutions that improve accessibility and expand opportunity for people with disabilities.
That work has allowed me to stay directly engaged in shaping policy that responds to real-world challenges and strengthens systems that too often fall short for the disability community.
I’m honored to share that I’ve been appointed to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) Advisory Committee. This appointment provides an opportunity to work directly with federal partners on improving accessibility in air travel and helping ensure that policy translates into meaningful, measurable progress for passengers with disabilities.
Air travel remains an area where accessibility has not kept pace with need, and I look forward to contributing a practical, solutions-focused perspective to the Committee’s work.
