❤️ Congratulations, Adam Rodgers! ❤️

The Lake Zurich Fire Department would like to congratulate Adam Rodgers on receiving the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Heart Hero Award! 🏆

The Heart Hero Award recognizes individuals who take action during a cardiac emergency and help make a lifesaving difference through CPR, AED use, or other actions that support a person experiencing cardiac arrest.

Adam’s recognition is a great reminder that knowing CPR and being willing to act can make all the difference when every second counts. We are proud to celebrate this achievement and the lifesaving impact of those who step up in an emergency!

👏 Congratulations, Adam, on this well-deserved recognition!

🚒💦 Big shoutout to Andy, Dan & Rick of Water Thievery💦🚒

Earlier this week, we got together with some of our neighboring departments for a great night of training focused on water thievery!

For those who may not be familiar with the term, water thievery is essentially the art of getting a large, reliable water supply from a hydrant to the fire scene quickly and efficiently. It’s an important skill on the fireground, especially when we’re dealing with a larger fire and need to move a lot of water.

We were fortunate to have Andy, Dan, and Rick there to share their knowledge, experience, and some great hands-on training with us and firefighters from Mundelein, Countryside, Wauconda, Buffalo Grove, and Deerfield.

Training with multiple departments is always a great opportunity to learn new techniques, work together, and build those relationships before we actually need them on an emergency scene. 🤝

A huge THANK YOU to Andy, Dan, and Rick for putting on a great class and sharing your expertise with all of us! We appreciate you! 👏🔥💦

đźš’ SPRINKLER SAVE! đźš’

We’re proud to share that this incident was featured in the National Fire Sprinkler Association’s weekly newsletter as an example of the life-saving impact of automatic fire sprinklers.

On September 11th, our crews responded to a local church for a fire that started in a garbage can during construction.

The fire traveled up the wall toward the peak of the vaulted ceiling when an automatic sprinkler activated, controlling the fire before it could spread further. When crews arrived, only a minimal amount of water was needed to finish the job.

This is why sprinklers matter! A properly maintained sprinkler system can control a fire early, limit damage, and help keep occupants and firefighters safer.

One sprinkler made a big difference!

🚑👶 A Special Delivery! 👶🚒
Sometimes the most important calls are the ones that bring a little extra joy.

Our crews recently responded to a call for a mother in labor, and while en route to the hospital, they quickly realized this little one wasn’t going to wait!

With the help of our skilled crews, a healthy baby was safely delivered right there in the ambulance. ❤️

We’re happy to report that both Mom and baby are doing great! Our crews were honored to be there for such a special moment and are proud to have helped welcome this newest member of the community into the world.

Please join us in congratulating Mom and welcoming this beautiful new addition! 🎉👶❤️

Great job by our crews on a delivery they won’t soon forget!
