This week, the Princess of Wales, through her work with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, visited the birthplace of the Reggio Emilia approach, the educational philosophy at the heart of everything we do at KLA Schools.

Her visit is more than a diplomatic moment. It is a global acknowledgment that how we educate our children matters deeply.

The Reggio Emilia approach is rooted in a profound belief: that children are capable, curious, and full of potential from the very beginning. It centers creativity, listening, and the understanding that learning happens through relationships with peers, educators, families, and the environment itself.

As Francesco Profumo, President of Fondazione Reggio Children, put it: in an era of major technological and social transformation, starting anew with children means starting anew with the future.

At KLA, we carry this philosophy into every classroom, every atelier, every moment of wonder. Knowing that the world is watching and affirming its value only deepens our commitment.

During Earth Week, our 3C class got their hands dirty planting seeds in the school garden beds 🌱
To continue the experience, they returned to see if there was any progress to their seeds. With guidance from their teachers, students also learned more about the planting process and what it takes to help their plants thrive.🌼
Journals play an important role in keeping families connected to the classroom and offer a window into each child’s learning, growth, and daily experiences. 📓✨

Our class of 2-year-olds is exploring updated self-portraits! By looking at photos of themselves, they’re able to notice unique features they might not see in the mirror, offering a fresh perspective as they create.
This meaningful process, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, encourages children to observe, reflect, and express who they are in this moment. Through thoughtful exploration and creativity, they’re building a strong sense of identity, confidence, and connection with others. 💛🎨
