This morning around 1:35 AM, your Lake Saint Louis Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire threatening a nearby home. Thanks to quick actions and great teamwork with the O'Fallon Fire Protection District, the fire was brought under control and further damage was prevented. Great work by everyone involved.

Less than 24 hours apart, your Lake St. Louis Firefighters have responded to 2 major fires while assisting our neighboring fire districts. Proud of the teamwork, professionalism, and dedication shown by all crews involved. Mutual aid is a critical part of what we do, and today was another reminder of how strong the fire service community is when departments work together. Stay safe to all crews still operating and recovering equipment.

Today, Wednesday and Friday, the fire district along with members from other County fire districts and SCCAD will be conducting training on the big lake.

We will be simulating hazmat situations,
-a sinking boat with leaking fuel and a chemical coming into the lake, where we will be using simulated chemical booms to protect the waters.

Crews will also be doing boat operator operations to keep up our boat skills.

This is only a training exercise- THERE ARE NO CHEMICALS- only imaginary to simulate for if/when we could encounter a real life situation.

We thank the LSLCA for the ability to use our lake to perform these needed skills.
