Here at the Council, we enjoyed our Fall Festival with our participants. Games, music, food and fellowship were enjoyed by all. We had our very own trick or treaters from Ms. Tara and Ms. Corey's Briarfield Academy classes. A huge "THANK YOU" to all who came out and enjoyed the activities.

Mrs.Eloise Edwards has served as Triad Coordinator for many years. She so graciously gives her time and expertise each month to our seniors. Mrs. Eloise keeps them abreast on issues concerning Senior Scams, Cyber Crimes, Social Media, Social Security and many more topics. We say a very grateful " THANK YOU" to this lady for always giving of herself and never complaining.

The Council on Aging became a chartered organization in 1968. It provides services to all persons(60 years and older) regardless of race, s*x, or national origin. This non-profit organization is funded through state, federal and private monies. Since funds are limited, the organization must rely on private contributions and fund raisers to subsidize the programs.
The Council presently operates with one multi-purpose senior center located at 600 First Street. the nutrition location site is the Amaker House Senior Center, 600 First Street.
The Council, operating under a volunteer Board of Directors, provides the following services to eligible participants of East Carroll Parish:

Just like diet and exercise, music making can be an important part of our over all well being. At the council, we have purchased a Lowrey "virtual orchestra" , Organ for our clients enjoyment. Pictured playing the organ is our very own Mr. Grady Murphy, Mrs. Connie Reed, Board member and client enjoys the tunes being played.

Right now, we are waiting on Dr. Jack to come and give instructions on how to fully utilize this beautiful organ.
