For Immediate Release:

Line-of-Duty Death — Firefighter Alan Hill

It is with profound sadness that we announce the line-of-duty death of Firefighter Alan Hill of the City of Rolla Fire and Rescue in Rolla, Missouri.

Brother Hill, 57, died on August 21, 2026, from occupational cancer.

Alan began his fire service career with Sugar Creek Fire Department in Independence, Missouri, before joining the City of Rolla Fire and Rescue in August 2006. He devoted 20 years of service to the Rolla community and to the fire service.

Brother Hill is survived by his wife, Sarah, and their three children, Jake, Cecelia, and Emily Hill.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Hill family, his friends, brothers and sisters in the fire service, and the entire Rolla Fire and Rescue family during this difficult time.

We stand with them in grief and solidarity as they mourn the loss of a firefighter, husband, father, and brother.

The department will provide additional information regarding memorial services as details become available.

We respectfully ask that you keep Brother Hill, his family, and his fellow firefighters in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
