Lake Ozark City Hall will be closed Friday (6/19/2026) in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day.

Offices will reopen Monday (6/22/26) morning at 8:00 A.M.

Emergency police and public works services are still available during this closure.

This weekend brings back another exciting event to the Historic Bagnell Dam Strip! Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Offshore Race will be happening throughout the weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday, road closures and detours will be in place from 7:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.

Please note that businesses on the upper end of the Strip are still accessible to the public at this time, and the detour is in place for drivers hoping to bypass the event area or find event parking.

Shootout Offshore Traffic, Parking & Detour Information

Offshore racing will take place Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the 0–5 MM race course near Bagnell Dam.

During race hours, portions of Bagnell Dam Blvd. will be closed, and traffic will be routed around the Strip using the marked detour route shown on the map. Please follow all posted signs and directions from law enforcement and event staff.

Parking Options:

Free Public Parking: Available on the east side near the dam area.
No shuttle service will be provided from the free public parking area.

Paid Parking: Available in the School Lots for $20 Card Only(Cashless), with shuttle service to the Strip.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use the marked detour route to help keep traffic moving safely throughout the weekend.

This evening, Hot Summer Nights returns to the Bagnell Dam Strip for their June event.

Hot rods and classic cars of all varieties will be lining the road and center lane tonight. The road is open to traffic, and all parking available.

05/18/2026

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the roadway over Bagnell Dam for routine work.

The road is scheduled to close Wednesday, May 20, and Thursday, May 21, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day between Route W and Valley Road.

The work is weather permitting.

Drivers may access the Bagnell Dam Strip by way of Highway 54 and 242, and will be able to access Route W by way of Highway 54.

On May 12, Mayor David Ridgely officially proclaimed this week as Police Week in the City of Lake Ozark. The proclamation was presented to the Lake Ozark Police Department in honor of the men and women of law enforcement who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, while also recognizing the dedication and service of officers who continue to protect and serve our community each day.

This weekend, the Bagnell Dam Strip will be host to the 38th annual Magic Dragon Street Meet!

This evening, the Bagnell Dam Strip will be closed to registered show cars only from 4:00 P.M. on.

Saturday, the Strip will be closed to show cars only from 5:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

During these closures, a one-way detour route will be in place using Valley Road. Traffic will not be able to enter the Strip from Highway W and Bagnell Dam. All traffic will enter the area from the Bagnell Dam Boulevard and Highway 242 interest.

Paid parking will be available to spectators around the event area.

The City's annual spring cleanup is just around the corner!

April 20th through 24th, Lake Ozark residents will be able to take most bulk trash items to our Public Works building at 1323 School Road from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
