Day 1 of Stabilization and Extrication Training for LOFD Recruits. Lt Nick Fiorante leads the two day training with help from his crew. Today, your Lake Oswego firefighters responded to a row of arborvitae that were accidentally ignited.

South Shore Engine 212 and Brush Unit 214 arrived quickly and were able to extinguish the fire before it extended to the home.

With this unseasonably warm weather, ground fuels are already drying out, increasing the risk of fire spread—even early in the season.

To help protect your home, consider signing up for a free Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) home assessment. You can find more information on the City of Lake Oswego website by navigating to:
Government → Fire → Safety → Wildfire Risk Prevention

Additionally, Oregon State University offers a helpful guide on fire-resistive plants for home landscapes, which can be a great resource when planning or updating your defensible space.

Stay safe and thank you for doing your part to reduce wildfire risk in our community.

Ever wonder what’s behind the big bay doors? 🚒

We have been talking a lot lately about the South Shore Fire Station and our vision to replace this aging facility. Today, we are taking you inside for a quick tour!

Our firefighters show up for you 24/7. Now we are working to ensure they have a station that meets modern safety standards and supports the growing needs of our community. Take a look at the current state of the station and see why this project is such a priority.
