Join us for National Night Out! 🚓 🚒 🎉 Tuesday August 4th from 4:00-5:30 at Oakwood Park and the Lake Mills Community School South parking lot.

Come connect with your neighbors, meet our Police Department, Winnebago County, Iowa Sheriff's Office, Lake Mills Iowa Fire Department - LMFD, Winnebago County Attorney's Office - Iowa, Lake Mills Public Library, and Crisis Intervention and enjoy a fun evening featuring a bicycle, e-bike, and e-scooter safety course. 🚲🛴 Our Fire Department will also be bringing the fun with a water ball activity! 💦 There will be brochures, treats, and prizes!

Bring the family and help us celebrate community, safety, and togetherness. We can’t wait to see you there!

Parents have your kids bring their bicycle 🚲 or scooters 🛴and go thru our safety course to earn a prize!

May 17th-24th is National EMS week.
We have some amazing staff on our ambulance service that I cannot express enough of my gratitude towards. They make the hard calls easier, the team dynamic more fun, and really treat each other like a family. They show up time and time again to help our neighbors, friends, and families.

A thankless job, the calm in the chaos, the first point of contact, and often unseen. We can’t thank our dispatchers enough for everything they put into their career, keeping our responders safe, answering the calls for help and dispatching law, fire, and EMS to wherever the need is. Make sure to thank them, it’s a career that only about 20% of the population can successfully do and I think Winnebago County has some of the best.
