The Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge works to promote economic progress and quality of life in the Hickory Nut Gorge while helping to protect the natural integrity and unify the communities of the Gorge. Influenced by the lake and mountain resorts of Europe, we were envisioned as a sanctuary for serenity and relaxation. We have evolved into a place where generations come to
reconnect and newcomers discover a retreat from the rigors of day-to-day life. We are a village built with a pioneering spirit to enchant visitors. We are here to delight the young and the young-at-heart. We are a place that hearkens to a simpler time where the laughter of a child, a friendly smile, and the warmth of a small community captivate our guests. Tonight's the night! We're bringing the whole Green Salamander Art Trail home to roost at Fae Nectar in Lake Lure. It's a meadery and Medieval Tavern with candlelight, craft mead, and a touch of fae magic. If you haven't been to their Great Hall or had a mead by the hearth yet, September 15 is your night.

And keeping the evening going is Cap'n Moss 🏴‍☠️, Fae Nectar's resident scallywag and MC, known for sea shanties, mischief, and good cheer at just about every event they host. Cap'n Moss will be running the show and keeping the auction bidding lively all night.

Art, mead, and a pirate MC. Doesn't get much better than that.

The Hickory Nut Gorge Chamber of Commerce will host two Candidate Forums in October.

October 1st, 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Bill’s Creek Community Center, 198 Club House Road in Lake Lure

October 8th, 5:30pm -7:30pm
Fae Nectar, 2984 Memorial Highway in Lake Lure

These nonpartisan mayoral and councilman candidate forums are part of The Chamber’s mission to ensure that voters across the Town of Lake Lure have the opportunity to hear directly from candidates on issues that matter to our community. The forums will serve as educational events and are designed in accordance with IRS guidelines for 501(c)(3) organizations and The Chamber’s values of transparency, inclusion, and civic engagement.

All candidates who will appear on the ballot and those who have publicly declared themselves as write-in candidates prior to September 17th will be invited and will be provided with equal time, opportunity, and prominence.

The forums will feature moderated questions as well as questions from the audience on a range of topics relevant to our community and the position for which they are running. The questions will be presented with no endorsement, opposition, or promotion of any candidate.

The events will be:
• Open to the public and press
• Moderated by neutral facilitators with experience in nonpartisan engagement
