On Wednesday evening members of the Ulster Police Department were recognized for exceptional service during 2025 at the Police Chief’s Association of Ulster County Annual Awards Dinner.

Meritorious Police Service - Team Life Saving - Multi-Agency Award was presented to Officer Meghan Sutton, Officer Tynan Rodriguez and Officer Robert Snyder along with members of Ulster Hose Fire Company and Ulster County Emergency Services-Division of Emergency Communications for their response to an infant drowning.

Meritorious Police Service - Team Investigation - Multi-Agency Award was presented to Lieutenant James Seyfarth and Detective Sergeant Cheryl Benjamin, along with members of the Kingston Police Department and NYSP Troop F Forensic Investigation Unit for their work in a murder/suicide investigation.

Meritorious Police Service - Investigation Award was presented to Detective Aaron Fitzgerald for his work in investigating a string of burglaries that had occurred throughout the Town of Ulster.

Congratulations to all award recipients on their well deserved recognition.

Earlier today, Officer Leiter, Officer Campos and Officer Norman participated in the "Murph Challenge" at Kingston Athletics.
The “Murph Challenge” is an annual Memorial Day fitness event and fundraiser honoring Navy SEAL Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan.
