Erskine Creek Water would like to extend a sincere apology to our neighbors and local business owners in Lake Isabella.
Yesterday, April 9th, we conducted scheduled system upgrades for Lake Isabella Community Services District from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM to replace aging infrastructure. During this work, a block of businesses just past Taco Bell experienced an unexpected water outage.
Why did this happen?
Because many of the water lines in our Lake Isabella Community Services District were installed decades ago by other entities, historical drawings and maps aren’t always 100% accurate. In this case, our records did not show that this specific block of businesses was to be affected to the line we were repairing. As a result, they did not receive our advance notification calls.
What we’ve done to fix it:
• As soon as we realized the error, we sent out an emergency Robo-call to apologize and provide an update.
• The tie-in was completed in about four hours, and water was fully restored.
• We have officially updated our records and added these businesses to our primary notification list to ensure they are kept in the loop for all future work.
Pro-Tip for Residents & Businesses:
If you haven't already, please remember to flush your lines by running your cold water taps for a few minutes. This helps clear out any air or sediment that may have entered the pipes during the outage to prevent clogging.
We are working hard to modernize our system for a more reliable future, and we truly appreciate your patience as we work through these historical infrastructure challenges. 💧
