Arizona needs your leadership.

The Flinn-Brown Fellowship helps experienced civic leaders from throughout Arizona expand their knowledge, skills, and networks to help address Arizona’s long-term issues.

Flinn-Brown is the flagship program of the nonpartisan Arizona Center for Civic Leadership. It offers:

Unparalleled learning about Arizona policy and politics through the Flinn-Brown Academy;
Connections with top state leaders and policy experts;
Membership in the powerful Flinn-Brown Network; and
Personalized long-term support for civic-leadership development.
Between 25 and 30 Arizonans are selected each year for the Flinn-Brown Fellowship in a highly competitive application and interview process.

We are honored to welcome Mark Nexsen, who served as Mayor of Lake Havasu City from 2006–2018, as a speaker at the E3 Political Academy.

Mark is more than a public servant—he’s a Certified Public Accountant, a community leader, and a passionate volunteer with decades of experience in both professional and civic life.

Highlights of his service and leadership include:

`12 years as Mayor of Lake Havasu City
`Founder of the Lake Havasu City Veterans Resource Team
`Recipient of the Copper Star Award from the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame
`Past Chairman of multiple local and statewide organizations, including the Greater Arizona Mayors

Meet Diane McMahan, a dedicated leader in accounting, finance, and public service. Diane brings a wealth of experience from her work in fire service, nonprofits, and local government, and currently serves as a professor at Arizona Western College, teaching Political Science and Accounting.

Her journey includes:

~ A Bachelor’s in Business Administration & Master’s in Public Administration
~ Years of active political involvement at both the county and state levels
~ A deep commitment to children and families through therapeutic foster care
~ A passion for exploring Arizona with her husband Brian and their dogs, Baxter & Kyah
