🎣 Fish Cleaning Station Back Open! 🐟
Good news, anglers! Our Fish Cleaning Station is officially back in business as of June 1, 2026.
We appreciate your patience after the grinder decided to take an unscheduled vacation the week before Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, with the holiday crowds, we weren’t able to get a replacement installed in time.
For those wondering, the grinder is basically a giant kitchen garbage disposal—weighing in at nearly 500 pounds! 💪The new grinder is up and running, so bring your catch and Happy Fishing! 🎣

What a fantastic week of outreach for Lake Havasu State Park! 🌵☀️
This week, our team had the opportunity to connect with our community and share the many ways Arizona State Parks support education, recreation, and accessibility.
📍 On Sunday (5/3), we joined Community Day hosted by Kids on the Colorado River, where we talked with kids and families about our youth programs, including our Junior Ranger Program and ways to get involved in outdoor learning and stewardship.
📍 On Wednesday (5/6), we attended STEMazing Night at Smoketree Elementary School! Students explored how water shapes our landscape using our erosion table and learned about local native wildlife through hands-on activities featuring animal skulls.
📍 On Thursday (5/7), we wrapped up the week at Truck a Poolza at the Aquatic Center, where our Construction Services team showcased our Boom Truck and our new Terrain Hoppers — off-road ADA accessible vehicles designed to help more visitors explore and enjoy Arizona’s outdoors.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booths and activities this week. We love sharing the importance of conservation, education, accessibility, and outdoor adventure with our community! 💚

We are riding through this year’s Desert Storm!🚤 Please be patient when waiting in the entrance line and finding a parking spot. (Yes, we wish the line moved this fast too.) 😂

The past week we had the privilege of hosting U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Ramp 3 for Motorboat Operator Training Course.
Their rangers, along with two of our Park Rangers, spent 3 days diving into all things boating - from equipment maintenance and vessel handling to navigation and weather safety! 🚤⚓️
We’re thankful for partnerships like this that allow agencies to train together and continue improving safety on the water!!! 🌊

🌧️ Recent rains have our park blooming! 🌈🌼

The desert is putting on a show, and wildflowers are stealing the spotlight:

🌼 Creosote – That classic “fresh rain” desert smell? You can thank this plant!
🪻 Desert Lupine – Tall, purple, and stylish with palmate leaves wrapping around the stem.
🌻 Desert Sunflower – These tough blooms love the sun and even face east to catch those morning rays.
♏️ Scorpionweed – Curled like a scorpion’s tail and glowing purple—just remember, gloves are your friend if you’re handling them!

These blooms won’t last forever, so come enjoy the painted desert while it lasts. Please remember to look and photograph, but don’t pick, so everyone can enjoy the view. 📸🌺

What’s your favorite wildflower this season? 👀🌸

Ranger Pugsley is getting his paws dirty today! 🌵🐶

Pugsley wanted to demonstrate how he likes to plant succulents. 😅🐾

Here are some helpful tips to care for your desert cactus and succulents:
☀️Give them plenty of sunlight
💧Water sparingly- less is more
🌵Use well-draining soil
🧤Handle with care (those spines are no joke)
