NORTHEASTERN SARATOGA AND WEST CENTRAL WASHINGTON COUNTIES THROUGH
345 PM EDT...

At 308 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Lake Luzerne-Hadley, or near Glens Falls, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Glens Falls, Warrensburg, Lake George Village, Corinth, Comstock,
West Glens Falls, Lake Luzerne Campground, Glens Falls North, Bolton
Landing, Queensbury, Mount Hope, South Glens Falls, Lake Luzerne,

Training Opportunity: Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting (ARFF)

The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC) will be offering an Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting (ARFF) course at South Queensbury Fire Department this October.

This 12-hour course is designed for fire service personnel and covers:
• Airport & aircraft familiarization
• Specialized firefighting agents (foam & dry chemical)
• Aircraft rescue operations & extrication
• Forcible entry & ventilation
• Civilian & military aircraft incidents

Course Information:

Prerequisites:
• Firefighter I (or equivalent)
• Completed Training Authorization Letter (TAL)

Every call is different and transporting pediatric patients presents unique challenges. The decisions you make in the back of the ambulance can have a lasting impact on your youngest patients.

Heavy rainfall continues to impact Warren County this afternoon, and flood-related alerts remain in effect through 8:00 PM EDT.

Flood Warning in Effect Until 8:00 PM
Flooding is ongoing or expected due to excessive rainfall. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have already fallen, with an additional 1 to 2 inches possible this afternoon.

Possible Impacts:
• Flooding of rivers, streams, and creeks
• Possible road closures
• Possible rising streams and continued runoff
• Flooding in low-laying areas

🟡 Northern Warren County
Flood Watch in Effect Until 8:00 PM
Additional rounds of moderate to heavy rain and a few thunderstorms are expected this afternoon. Rainfall rates could reach 1–2 inches per hour, with another 1 to 3 inches of rain possible.

Flooding may develop quickly in:
• Low-lying and flood-prone locations
• Small creeks and streams
• Urban and poor drainage areas

Keep an eye to the sky today as there is a Slight Risk for Severe weather in Warren County Today.

When: This afternoon into this evening

Risk Level: Slight Risk 2 of 5 for severe weather.

Impacts: Scattered to numerous severe thunderstorms could produce damaging wind gusts, isolated large hail, and even an isolated tornado. Damaging winds are the primary impacts that can result in downed trees/limbs and some power outages.

Risk Level: Marginal Risk 1 of 5 for flash flooding (5%)

AIR QUALITY ALERT FOR WARREN COUNTY 🌫️

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Fine Particulates that remains in effect until Midnight EDT tonight.

🟧 Air Quality: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (AQI 101–150)

Smoke and fine particulate pollution may increase the risk of adverse health effects, especially for:

👶 Young children
👴 Older adults
🫁 People with asthma, COPD, or other respiratory conditions
❤️ People with heart disease

Protect Your Health

✔️ Limit prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity.
✔️ Take frequent breaks if you must be outside.

Weather Outlook: Heat Advisory in Effect Today (7/14/26)

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Heat Advisory for today.

When: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EDT.

Heat index values up to 104°F are expected, creating dangerous conditions for anyone spending time outdoors.

Stay Safe During the Heat

💧 Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Spend time in an air-conditioned building whenever possible.
🌳 Limit time in direct sunlight and seek shade.
👨‍👩‍👧 Check on older adults, neighbors, and those without air conditioning.

Heat Advisory
• A heat advisory has been issued for Northern Warren County until 8 PM Friday. Heat index values between 95° and 104° are expected.

🚨 Southern Warren County
Extreme Heat Warning
• An extreme heat warning has been issued for Southern Warren County until 8 PM Friday. Heat index values between 105° and 111° are expected.
Very warm and humid overnight conditions will provide little relief, with nighttime temperatures remaining in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

What is a Heat Advisory?
A Heat Advisory is issued when dangerous heat conditions are expected but are not forecast to reach Extreme Heat Warning criteria. Consider postponing or rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities, especially during the hottest part of the day. If you must be outdoors, drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks in the shade, and spend time in air-conditioned locations whenever possible.

What is an Extreme Heat Warning?
An Extreme Heat Warning is issued when dangerously hot conditions are expected or occurring, creating a significant risk of heat-related illness. These conditions can become life-threatening if proper precautions are not taken. Avoid prolonged time outdoors, limit strenuous activities, stay in air-conditioned locations whenever possible, and check frequently on vulnerable family members, neighbors, and pets.
