ADK Earthome Join us in our journey to build our eco-home! Adirondack Earthome is a self sustainable off grid eco-home. Bringing nature home by combining home and ecosystem.

The design is inspired by Michael Reynolds @ Earthship Biotecture. Using recycled materials and energy efficient design, such as solar energy, thermal mass and grey water recycling. Creating a home that brings down the cost of living by lowering the demand of heating and cooling. By growing food in the greenhouse area of the home, It allows us fresh vegetables year around in our own garden. We're

building the home our self as a labor of love and would love to have people who are interested in helping and learning building sustainable systems of living. Lowering the carbon footprint
and creating a staple habitat for the family for many years to come.

So it's been awile since I last posted anything on the build, here is a preview...Wraping the building with a thick multi layered outer shell of stabilized insulated earth. It's taking shape of a mound still to be covered in stone, soil and greenery all yet to come. When it's done you won't see the tires. Getting it done while it's warm out is the key.
