Happy Election Day Eve! A quick text message you could send out to a few friends including the pic below…

Hey there! Just wanted remind you that tomorrow is Election Day. Every single vote counts in a local election. When voting for School Board Director, please consider giving your vote to Julie M. Serenyi. School Board should not be about political parties, but rather serving our students, staff, administrators, and residents with experience, information, and passion. Your ballot will say “vote for not more than four”. You do not have to vote for four. Vote only for the candidate(s) you want to elect.

Many have asked how they could help. If you could spare a few hours on Tuesday, I would appreciate your help at the polls. I have the municipal building covered for the day, but if anyone wants to help at any of the other polling locations, that would be great. I’ll have some handouts to pass out.

Way to go, Peters Township!!!!

Pleasant Valley Elementary has been named the #1 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN PENNSYLVANIA for 2026, according to U.S. News & World Report. This is the second consecutive year for the honor for PV and is based on student proficiency on state-required testing and how well the school serves all student populations. Bower Hill Elementary also ranked #6 on the elementary list with the Middle School ranking 7th across the state in their Middle School ranking as well. Congratulations to our PT Staff and Students! Making us !

Make a plan to vote. Please share this with any first-time voters in your house. Check on your neighbors and make sure they have a plan.

Dear Pennsylvania Voter,
The election is Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. Do you have a plan to vote?



Voting in person
If you plan to vote in person on Election Day, find your assigned polling place. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. If you are a first-time voter or are voting at a new polling place, here are tips to prepare to vote. And be sure to arrange for transportation to your polling place in advance, if needed.

Voting by mail
If you plan to vote by mail ballot, request your ballot now to be sure you have time to receive and return it. The deadline to apply is Oct. 28.

You can also apply in person at your county board of elections office, complete the ballot while you are there, and return it all in one visit. If you choose this option, be sure to contact your county board of elections office to verify their hours.



There are four steps for completing and returning your mail ballot:



Read the instructions and mark your ballot with a blue or black pen. There may be races on the back of your ballot, so be sure to check both sides.
Seal your ballot in the yellow envelope marked “official election ballot.” The ballot must be placed in this envelope for it to be counted.
Place the yellow envelope in the larger return envelope. You must sign and date the larger envelope before you return it to your county board of elections.
Return your completed ballot to your county elections office – either by mail, in person, or in an officially designated drop box. See if your county offers drop boxes or a satellite drop-off location.


Your mail ballot must be received by your county board of elections by 8 p.m. Nov. 4. Mail ballots received after that time will not be counted.



You are the only person permitted to return your ballot unless you have a disability and designate someone in writing to return your ballot for you.

19 Days! That's how close Election Day is!

When I ran for School Board Director two years ago, I posted a series of "Did you know?" posts so that the community could get to know me a little better. You can scroll through my page to read them all in their entirety, but I thought I might share some snippets with you here.

Did you know...

- I hold a Master of Education degree from the University of Maryland. My area of focused study was parental involvement in education. I've put that knowledge to use with my own children and with the communities I've been a part of.

- I have been involved in schools since my children started preschool. From classroom volunteer to PTA member, from substitute teacher to Area Council lead, and currently as PTHS PTSA President, I have a deep understanding of what is happening in our school buildings, what challenges are facing our students and staff, and what opportunities exist for letting our district shine.

- I have attended almost all of the School Board meetings and committee meetings for the last 2+ years. I understand how the meeting process works, where information is gathered, what our district's financial situation is, and where legislation affects the board's decisions. I have a deep respect for the administration and their professional credentials, as well as their desire to serve our district, staff, and students.

- In addition to education, I have a background in consulting and sales. I have experience listening to clients, working with a team to develop solutions to challenges, and working to implement those solutions. Listening, problem-solving, thinking outside of the box, collaborating - these are the skills that I use every day. These skills will translate well to working as one member of a nine-member board.

Thank you for your support at the voting booth on Tuesday, November 4th. I will represent you with my informed, reasonable, and educated presence on the next Peters Township Board of School Directors. As always, if you have any questions for me, please do not hesitate to reach out.
